  17. Mountolive and Clea), a series of four novels set in the
  18. Egyptian city during the 1930s and '40s, was a best seller in
  19. the 1950s and 1960s; in Sommieres, France. Durrell maintained
  20. a prolific 45-year correspondence with American author Henry
  21. Miller.
